In this chapter I introduce you to Spire by Reveal Sound and explain why it’s one of my favorite synths. I talk about what makes it such a strong all-rounder, the kinds of sounds you can make with it, how it compares to other popular synths, and why it’s great value for money.

Here I break down Spire’s main features, including the four oscillators, filters, envelopes, effects, and modulation. I show you how I shape sounds, widen them, use LFOs, and link everything through the matrix. I also demonstrate the arpeggiator and step sequencer to create moving, evolving sounds.

In this chapter I explore different sound banks and presets, showing you how I use them as quick starting points. I play through house, trance, and urban-style sounds, tweak them to fit my tracks, and explain how to use presets creatively instead of always designing sounds from scratch.
