Limitation Series, Part Two – Build a Track Using Limitation (No-Friction Workflow)

In the previous lesson, we explored how friction — specifically too many decisions — is one of the main reasons producers struggle to finish music.
In this chapter, we take that idea out of theory and into practice.
Instead of explaining the process step by step, this is about showing what happens when you remove unnecessary decisions and allow ideas to develop naturally. Using a small set of tools and a simplified workflow, the focus shifts away from searching and towards reacting.
What you’ll notice isn’t just speed, but continuity. The idea forms quickly, and more importantly, it keeps moving. There’s no stopping to compare options, no second-guessing, and no interruption to the creative state.
This isn’t about avoiding powerful tools or limiting what’s possible. It’s about understanding when simplicity is the better choice — particularly at the start of an idea, where momentum matters most.
The goal here isn’t a finished track.
It’s a complete creative moment.
And once you can consistently reach that point without friction, finishing music becomes a natural next step rather than a constant struggle.
