Making A Last Night On Earth Style Track Part 2

In this course, I guide you through arranging a Last Night on Earth–style track from start to finish. I show how I build structure, shape progression, add layers, automate movement, use effects creatively, and craft a flowing, impactful arrangement ready for final production.
Course Details
In this video, I outline my approach to arranging a Last Night on Earth–style track, explaining how I think about structure, progression, and the flow from start to finish. I walk you through my mindset and the key concepts that shape the arrangement process before we dive into the details.
Here I begin shaping the intro by adding hat layers, cleaning up parts, and laying out a rough six-and-a-half-minute structure. I demonstrate how I strip elements back, build in eight-bar sections, choose where sounds enter, and use filtering and fresh-ear decisions to create a musical, engaging opening.
In this chapter, I develop the main body of the track by refining transitions, automating bass growls and filters, shaping vocal and synth entries, and preparing a large central breakdown. I show how I keep momentum through constant movement, subtle changes, and purposeful sound placement.
Here I enhance the arrangement with impacts, risers, white-noise effects, flanging, panning, and delay automation. I show how I use samples, EQ, reverb, and subtle modulation to add atmosphere and movement, filling transitions and tightening the overall groove without overcrowding the mix.
In this video, I design a functional DJ-friendly outro by reducing elements, filtering synths, automating bass movement, and adding final impacts and risers. I demonstrate how to strip back the energy while keeping interest, leading the track smoothly into its closing section.
Here I walk through the final arrangement, highlighting the flow from intro to breakdown to drop and outro. I review the automation, filtering, effects, and transitions that shape the final structure and explain how each decision contributes to a cohesive, evolving track ready for the next production stages.
