Parallel compression is all about attitude and excitement.
Here, we’ll set up a dedicated “crush” bus, pushing the compressor hard to bring out density and sustain.

Then, we’ll carefully blend that signal back in to add body and power — without destroying the transient detail.

It’s the perfect way to achieve punchy, energetic drums that cut through a mix while still feeling open and natural.

With the dynamics shaped, we move on to additive EQ — the stage where tone meets character.
In this chapter, we enhance the drum bus with subtle boosts to the highs for air and sheen, the lows for weight and foundation, and the mids for presence and punch.

Additive EQ brings the final polish, helping your drums sound full, lively, and ready to sit perfectly in a professional mix.
